Better Late than Never!

So Mercy's weekly sketch changes tomorrow. So I guess it's better late than never that I posted something for this week. This was made with a relatively new MFT set. I like the set, the image was fun to color. I think it's pretty obvious I'm still learning to use my copic markers. What's the sparkle paper and snazzy image without some glitter on the jewels Miss Thing is holding. Woohoo, I love the glitter almost as much as the polka dots. Have a great evening!

Catching up.

To be honest with you, I'd rather be catching up on sleep. When I couldn't sleep, I decided to work on a card for Jen's weekly sketch. I recently bought this Amuse stamp on line and was a little disappointed to find out just how tiny it is. ( Yes, I'm sure the dimensions were noted in the detail but do you know me or not? chuckle) Anyhow, since that's my disappointment for the day ~ I've got nothing to complain about and will move my otherwise joyful self along. Thanks for reading along!

Does this come in Suede?

Soft Suede that is. This is my first use of this years in colors. I think I like it best. In the past, I've picked up all six at once and to say the least, been over whelmed. So this time I'm reviewing them slowly. This is a very simple card with the new Medallion stamp. The stamp itself has such detail, where else cold you go? I wonder what it means to be called a Shelli signature stamp. Wouldn't they all have her stamp of approval?

Anyway, I made this card for my friend Sylvia. She's a great friend and colleague. ~ Going to Jeanne's after work to celebrate with a few friends. Woohoo!

Say purse and I'm there.

It's the one undeniable similarity between me and my mom. We both like big purses. So when I ran across this Karen Foster DP, I snatched up a sheet or two. ~ Thought it would make a great pattern for Mercy's sketch this week. It didn't come out as good as I'd hoped but there's always next week. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook & a Movie ~ teamed up with SFYTT

What could be better? Last night I joined a great group at http://www.personal-scrapbook.com/ for scraping for most ~ card making for me and a movie. I'm determined to get back into the fun of following the challenges. Yesterday, being Saturday, I threw my attempt at Jen's sketch. This is my new or should I say revisited favorite size card ~ 4.25 square ~ Tara ordered me some great perfect 4.5 square envelopes from Amuse. Found this cute DP, flower, and BIG brad at Tara's too. This little stamp set is from Clear Stamps, I believe. Anyway, the movie was cute and the crowd was fun. I told them, I needed to get up early to get to class, and I originally woke up in plenty of time but then I dosed back off in my warm relaxing bath. ~
Note to self: Stop relaxing to plan out the week OR take a quick shower to avoid the obvious time trap. Silly me. Have a great week!

Matchy matchy!

Now, I know it looks odd for me to be up on a week night posting at 1 A M but I can't stop thinking about my Julie. My Julie has worked with me for the last 13 years and is now in what seems to be the last battle with cancer. I hate it, I'm sure she hates it, my friends hate it and I'm more than sure her teenagers and hubby really despise it! Ugh. So I pray, pray for her number of days on this earth to be fulfilled. I pray for her will to live to win out over her tired and burden body. I pray for her children, family and friends. . . .

On to my post. . . . I made a set of monogram cards for Cathy. The Cricuts ~ Mini Monograms, a free with other purchases cartridge has turned out to be a favorite. I bought the Bella Bleu paper from Stampin' Up! It reportedly used Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy and Kraft. I love Kraft but as I think you can tell even through the ribbon, it's not a real match. But I think she'll enjoy the set. (Sorry, I tied the cards up and then realized oops, no picture.) I thought you'd still get the idea and I told you I was tired. Ha! ~ Until next time friends!

Lord have Mercy with a cherry on top!

.. . Been awhile since I blogged that is! I'm openly thanking Mercy and her 1st monthly guest, Shannan for this great sketch. After I post this and link it to Mercy's blog, I'm going to make some cards for my friend and director, Cathy Dial. We're celebrating her birthday tomorrow but then, we celebrate it all month long. She's great so it's easy. Let's see if I get her cards posted. Wish me luck and have a great evening!
