Beautiful You

The other day, I cut the new Pink Pirouette ribbon and it didn't work for the card I was making at the time. Now I see why, it's beautiful and makes a big impression. So I made this new card with my new VERVE stamps and the sketch from Sketches by Tamara. Of course nothing this great would be good without diamond dust.

Have a great weekend.

Confession and small victories

As you may or may not have read, I started Jenny Craig a few weeks ago. And it's not to look hot for Santa. HA. Not this year or next, I'll never be thin but I'll be danged if I wanna drag this size around forever. Not this size anyway. I've been a big gal a long time and somehow managed to stay about the same size for a long time. But in the last couple of months, I've really packed on some fast pounds. So what Queen Latifia said seemed right, drop something to get healthier. The smartest ad ever!
Onto my small victory, I worked only a half day today and then ran errands. I went to the doctor, bank, yada, yada yada, of course got hungry and would normally grab a small cheeseburger and DP to pass the hunger. Today I happened to pass a drive through Luby's and grabbed green beans instead. Small choice, small victory.

Have a great weekend!

Shelby and the baby.

My beautiful niece Shelby shown in a post just a bit below this went into labor last night. She's seven months pregnant and her doctor confined her to bed rest. This happened with her first born as well, it appears her amniotic fluid starts to dry up and she goes into labor. She had her first born son Brayden early and he's fine but we still pray she carries this baby closer to full term. The bed rest could also be a challenge since Brayden is only 16 months old. I believe with all my heart the Lord has great plans for Shelby and her growing family.
Please join me in prayer for HIS best for them.

Color Throwdown 8

Hi friends. I love these color challenges. Same sentiment as yesterday, new flowers. I like both of these sets. The So Saffron barely showed up, I wonder if the picture would have been better with my regular camera. It's quicker with the cell phone. ~ Color your world.

K Werner Color Inspiration 20

Hi. Now these colors are right up my alley. I'm really going to love this stamp set too. I have the 1 1/4 inch wide Pink Pirouette ribbon and love it but it over shadowed my card so I switch to the sheer pink. Everthing else:SU ~ Color your world!

Thank you Hobby Lobby.

Hi friends.

I found this nice paper at HL for 5 for $1. I thought it went nicely with Barely Banana and used my all time favorite CChip Satin ribbon. The Thank you sentiment is from the new catalog and went well with the new SU Big Oval punch. Have a great evening!

Awaiting Addison!

Shelby's college friend hosted a wonderful baby shower. Doesn't she look cute? I made her the card and one of her aunts gave her this adorable tu-tu. Shelby is my niece, Addison will be her second born, first girl. Ta ta for now.

KWerner Color Inspiration 8.20.08

OK, you that know me know ~ given a chance, I'll add REAL RED, Woodstock has to be yellow, so I was "forced" to add two colors.
Here's my card. (I'm going back to add a few brads in the upper left, now that I've posted, I think this needs ONE more thing ~ but then I always do!)
Paper and ink is SU.
Snoopy is STAMPABILITIES.
The sentiment is a new VERVE.
OK, I have others to make. =)
See you!

Bella Rose and Riding Hood Red

So Suzy and Angie both thought it was crazy that I questioned this color, so I thought I'd use it again. It's still not on the top of my list but maybe it's growing on me. Good night nurse, teacher and office manager too! :)
On an unrelated note: I really need to buy the circle Nestabilities!

Small talk ~ Small card (s)

Howdy all. My friend Haylie posted cute little cards on her blog today. They were so adorable, it inspired me to give it a try. I've been wanting to use these die cut flowers for awhile. Have a great night.

Julee's MoJo 49

Hi. Well, I finally cut into my new in colors packet. I'm not as much of a fan as I thought I'd be of the Red Riding Hood. In other blogs, the color looks red but in real life to me, it looks a little more like burnt orange or rust. Oh well, here's the card. Have a great evening! Thanks!

Happy Birthday card.

Hi all. I needed a birthday card for tomorrow and took my inspiration from the new SU catalog. It's not exact, when am I ever? Look on page 144 for the look alike. :)
Have a great evening, thanks for stopping by.

Worth the Effort ~ Take 2

OK, just after my post, I saw a great sample from Dawn Easton's blog and decided to redo this card. This time I changed the color to Real Red because it's my Real favorite. And, this blue really reminds me of denim. I like it. Have a great weekend.

Color TDown 6

OK, I stayed up way too late making minor changes to this card.
In my head, it worked out but on paper I made several alterations until I was ready to post. I really like this stamp set, small, simple and to the point. It is from http://www.mftstamps.com/
Of course it's also my CTD entry. Thanks for stopping by, good night.

Maymedele's turning 85.

My friend's mom is turning 85 next week. She and two of her daughter's all live within two blocks of each other. They each built homes in Little Elm in the last few years. She's spry, kind and a joy to know. This card was made for her.
All but the rhinestones:SU
Have a great day.

SFYTT

Hi all. I don't think this is my best but at least it's not backwards. Have a great night.

My day went to the dogs.

The Bella dogs that is. I love this image but it was a lot to color, some small details. Does everyone see my Fe Fe is on top? :)
Stamp image is again a Bella.
Paw print is Stampendous.
OK, I was a little hasty suggesting Suzy use her phone to post, this is my third shot and I simply could not get rid of the haze. That's what I get for being a smarty pants!

Red is my signature color!

Does anyone else remember Julia Roberts saying that about pink in Steele Magnolias? When that movie came on the other day I thought, golly! When it 1st came out I was the age of the bride but now, I'm the age of the mom. HA! How did that happen? Anyway onto my card. I took a good nap today and now I can't sleep. Typical Sunday night for me, I'll pay tomorrow afternoon at work. Oh well. Anyway, I bought this set for the sentiment. I love to wear red. Thanks for looking. See you next time.

Have you called Jenny yet?

Howdy all! Did you have a nice Saturday? This is what I did. I had lunch with WilloDean and went to Jenny Craig. Actually, I'd signed up on the 1st of the month. But my blood pressure was high and so JC needed my doctor's permission to put me on the program. Well that just took a few days, so I'm off.
I've been a big girl for quite some time. For some reason, I've started packing on a few more pounds lately. I saw Queen Latefah say she just wanted to get a size healthier and that hooked me in. I don't know about getting thin, bleak! Healthier sounds right. So here I go.

Color Throw Down 5

Howdy friends. I enjoy these color challenges and had the DP left over that worked perfectly. I made the small card first and just thought I should put a little more work into it.
The smaller card is 100% SU. The other card sports a stamp from STAMPENDOUS named Happy Chick. All papers and inks are SU. Have a great evening. ~ 'Til next time.

The stamp set not the card.

Hi all. This post is about the set more than the card. Gina recently released a new charity benefiting stamp set. I like to buy these but never more than this one. If you buy it soon, Gina will donate $4 to cancer research. Like most of us, cancer has negatively affected my family on more than one occasion. I received the set yesterday at work, just two days after a coworkers MIL passed away from her own personal battle. The daisy's may seem cheery but given the circumstance, they "feel" appropriate. Blessings!

Update:
It was just to easy too make this second card with Real Red card stock. And, I didn't want to disappoint Angie. :)

How did I get "so off"?

This was my 1st try at OCC 7. It took on a different shape, direction, and view after I got started. You could hardly call it an attempt at the sketch, so I started over. . . . .
All SU except the misc brad and ribbon.
Sweet dreams!

If you look past the smudges, you'll see the real card.

This was my second try at this week's sketch.

My wish.

One of my bff's Brenda, will have a heart procedure on Tuesday. Brenda is WilloDean's daughter, so my wish, my prayer is that she'll have time to kick back and relax. Recover and recuperate in HIS perfect time. I really didn't have any direction planned for this card. I started it, didn't like it and keep working at it until it became this. I don't love it but it's better than it started out to be. I know I've seen this layout recently but for the love, I don't remember exactly where it began. I really should take notes!

Birthday Bonanza begins early.

My birthday is tomorrow but I've already received some nice greeting cards and well wishes.

I think Ill post as they came in. The first came from my Director (at work) CD. Cathy hosted a workshop for SU in March of 2007 and I was drawn in by all the matching colors, ribbons, and papers. Need I say more? Not to this group I'm sure. . . . Cathy gave me this cool tool organizer, not a moment too soon. I was outgrowing the old one. She even made the card. Good job CD!

Next, commercial cards from family and friends. Before my Dad passed away, he used to always say I was the best "card picker outer". It was sweet of him considering I'd worked for Hallmark for over 10 years. He passed away just before I started creating my own. (Even with uneven layers and messy cutting ~ I think he would have enjoyed my new found hobby). The HALLMARK in front sings, "Sugar Sugar". ~ A definite feel good tune.

Last but not least, a great SU spectacular from friend and fellow blogger, Suzy Tyler. This card is fabulous and makes me want the new stamp set all the more. I bought the new DP but love it so much I haven't cut into it yet.
Thank you one and all! I am so blessed!
